Good morning

Hello everybody,

It’s been a pretty busy weekend for me.

Apart from going outside for long walks with the family, visiting a local easter market and a bit of shopping, of course I did find a few moments to crochet as well.

I decided to work on a blanket last week. It’s my first blanket, so it took me a while to decide for the pattern and for the yarn.

decke2

It’s going to be a granny stripe blanket in different shades of colours (mainly blue, maybe green and pink?).

I chose a thin yarn ( worked with 3 mm hook), so it’s a wooleater blanket and it’s probably going to take forever to finish it ;) BUT the yarn I chose is pure merino wool, so absolutely high and soft quality.

I’m still thinking about the colour scheme and I’m going to need more colours than I thought at first.

I will keep you updated about my progress :)

And then, well, you know easter is ahead and I wanted to crochet something for my little girl. First I planned on crocheting a easter basket, but due to a lack of inspiration that didn’t happen – this year ;P

So I made one cute little bunny for her, and I’m absolutely in love with it!

The pattern is not mine, you can find the free pattern here or on  Friday Freebie’s #4 . The pattern is a free pdf download and it’s very clear about what do, with photo instructions on how to embroider nose and mouth.

It’s so adorable, I’d love to make more of it! Maybe I’ll do one or two for my nieces as well :)

So, that’s what I’m working on actually.

What are your actual projects ? I’d love to see some pictures posted on Facebook :)

Speaking of Facebook : I’d like to mention that we reached 100 Likes on the Crochetier Facebook Page yesterday – wohooo!

Thank you all for reading, liking and sharing what I’m doing on my blog! I’m so flattered :) please keep on sharing the crochet love!

I’m planning on getting another free pattern online this week for you as a big THANK YOU for all you lovely crocheters!

It will be cute, little and quick to do (as always) and easter related!

And of course, the sixth edition of Friday Freebie’s will be out on good friday :)

Wishing you a wonderful holy week (is that the right term?) and I’m looking forward to see you guys around on my blog this week,

Happy yarning and Happy easter

Shopping and new Blog category

Today I went shopping in a wonderful wool shop in Vienna.

zwirnuwolle

It was the first time I was there, and the consulting was fantastic!

I got some yarn for a blanket project I have in mind:

wool_cat

Our cat Artemis likes it just as much as I do :P

Now it’s just about the decision with stitches to use to make a cute and cuddly blanket out of this wonderful yarn! I can’t wait to start !

Details about the shop can be found in the new category “Deutsch Extra” under the Blog button!

I’m wishing you all a wonderful and crafty day!

Back from holidays

Hello my dear crochet friends,

after one week with loads of snow and sun, I am back from holidays in Davos, Switzerland!

davos3

It was a wonderful family holiday, skiing, snowball fights and sunburn inclusive :)

davos2

Isabelle enjoyed the snow as much as she could, because we had absolutely no snow this winter in Vienna. Mostly she enjoyed eating snow, though.

Between long walks, good meals and recreation breaks in the sun, I finally had some time to shop some swiss yarn ( the shop’s name was” Chrüsimüsi” :P ) and start a new project:

placematset2

a placemat and coaster set :) it turned out lovely.

I bought some lovely bambus and soja yarn (I had no idea this would exist) as well, it would be perfect for a blanket, but they only had 4 balls of yarn, so I’ll put it aside until I have found a nice proect for this one.

So, now I’m back home and working on getting some new free patterns online soon. I have a few projects in my mind so I’ll be occupied with crocheting the evenings in the new few days :)

Happy chrocheting

Veronika

Hop hop hop…

Here is on and here’s another,
Here’s a lovely one for mother.
Let us look and see,
Where the eggs may be.”
